"Beauty means expression and being your most authentic self."
When beauty guru Pat McGrath wants to introduce a new product, she looks to a select group of #McGrathMuses to model the latest from her makeup line. Naomi Campbell, Bella Hadid, and Kim Kardashian are all members of McGrath's elite clique, along with a lesser known but equally captivating face: New York City model Paloma Elsesser. "Beauty means expression and being your most authentic self," says Paloma, who you might recognize from campaigns for ASOS, H&M, and Nike.
She's part of a growing group of women redefining antiquated beauty standards by being honest unfiltered (literally) on Instagram. For Paloma, that means taking a low-key, show-don't-tell approach to self-acceptance. You won't see hashtag body positive on her captions because she just is. Her favorite piece of advice? Know your worth.
Even before meeting Pat, Paloma was beauty obsessed. "I am always dabbling in new skin routines, but it's always about moisture," she says. "For makeup I swear by a base of Embryolisse, Nars concealer, that Bobbie Brown foundation stick, Pat's highlighter, a brow fill-in with dark brown eyeshadow and angle brush, a groom with Anastasia brow gel, an eyelash curl, and two swipes of drugstore mascara."
Throughout, Paloma test-drives three beauty looks we're obsessed with this fall: silver liner, indigo lids, and cerulean lips.
To get the look, try NYX Wicked Lippies in Royal Metallic Blue, Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Glamrock, and Sephora Colorful Eyeshadow in Sailor Kiss. Makeup byNina Park.
