Sonakshi Sinha's Akira trailer has crossed 10 million views beating her own record and Priyanka's Mary Kom, Sonam Kapoor's Neerja records!
Being a female oriented film, Akira’s trailer has managed to cross the milestones created by PeeCee and Sonam!
Gone are those days when an actress’ solo presence in the film would tank at box office. Today is the time in Bollywood when divas are going a step ahead and doing solo films as the protagonists with no male lead next to them. The best part of this is how well their films are being received by everyone. In the recent past itself, films like Neerja, NH10, Mary Kom, Queen have done some fabulous work at the box office and even won hearts of fans. Another film that is all set to join their brigade is Sonakshi Sinha‘s Akira.
Helmed by celebrated director AR Murugadoss, the film centers around Sona’s character named Akira, who after getting embroiled in a bad bad cop scene, must find her way out, even if it means going on ninja on them. Now we’ve seen just how butt-kickin’ Sonakshihas been in the trailer as she breaks bones like candies. But guess what, so many people have seen it that the trailer has crossed the 10 million views mark on YouTube. Not just that, the trailer of Akira has surpassed the hits of other female-centric films like Neerja, Queen and Mary Kom. Where the trailer of Neerja, Queen and Mary Kom has crossed 7 million, 3 million hits and 6 million hits respectively, the trailer of Akira has crossed 10 million hits.
That’s quite badass, Miss Sinha. Also starring Anurag Kashyap in a negative role and Konkona Sen Sharma, the film will be releasing on 2nd September. There are a lot of hopes from this film as not only does it have the Dabangg lady, Sonakshi but also is being directed by director AR Murugadoss.
