ROSIE Denim Rules

ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY looks better in a pair of jeans than just about anyone, but evenshe has go-to shapes and details that she shies away from. Far from embracing the straight-leg stiff denim that many fashion insiders have turned to in recent months, the British model and Paige ambassador can't imagine parting with her skinnies.
Former model Adams-Geller describes Huntington-Whiteley as "chic, cool and effortless" and notes that she is "as smart as she is gorgeous" - all key Paige-girl qualities. The new campaign also features the brand's first accessories collection alongside the growing ready-to-wear offering as Paige seeks to inhabit every area of your wardrobe. But, the jeans will always form the backbone of the collection, and when it comes to inspiration, Huntington-Whiteley has a few key jean-wearers in mind.

"I have always loved Anita Pallenberg," the model told us. "To me she really embodied that incredible time in rock 'n' roll culture. She was the ultimate It-girl and her style is still so relevant and referenced today. Others that spring to mind when I think of denim icons are Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg, Elvis, Steve McQueen, Bridgette Bardot, Farah Fawcett, Blondie, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, The Ramones, Paul Newman and Cindy Crawford."

"A black pair of skinny jeans has to be the most versatile, timeless and flattering for everyone," she told us. "I love that a black pair of jeans can be dressed up or down, smart or casual. My personal favourite from Paige is the Hoxton in Black Shadow, they are very slimming and elongating. I tend to steer clear of anything overly distressed or the paint-splattered trend, and if I go for a looser, more relaxed fit, I still want to feel feminine… but those are just my personal no-nos - everyone is different. Denim is a staple in most people's wardrobes whatever their personal style may be and that is what makes it famous for being so versatile. I love seeing other people's interpretation of denim."

Having already turned her hand to design for a Marks & Spencer's lingerie collection that bears her name, and now a make-up offering for the store, Huntington-Whiteley this season added art director to her CV, helping plan the spring/summer 2016 campaign shoot with Paige founder Paige Adams-Geller.
"I personally enjoy being involved in all aspects of a shoot and having input wherever I can," Huntington-Whiteley told us. "I have 13 years of experience working in this industry so I feel I often have something to bring to the table that goes beyond just posing as a face of the brand. I think when you can work this way and be collaborative the end result is much more meaningful and personal and makes my endorsement of the brand truly authentic. I can honestly say that all brands I choose to work with have personal meaning or significance to me in some way. I have been wearing Paige for several years now so there is history there and a genuine appreciation and fondness for the brand."

And it seems the feeling is mutual: "Rosie and I have an amazing relationship," Adams-Geller added. "We just seem to get each other. It's such a pleasure to work alongside someone who loves fashion, understands the business side, and still knows how to not take things too seriously. We are like soul sisters reunited - we even show up to meetings with the same shoes and handbags! The relationship just feels natural and organic. It's a perfect match."
