India's embassy has announced that passports are now being issued within five working days because of a streamlined process.

All passport renewal applications can be submitted up to one year before the expiry date. In case blank pages are about to exhausted, applications can be submitted if there are only five blank pages left in a passport without one year condition.

In this connection, particular attention needs to be paid to the remaining validity of passports of minor children who normally have shorter validity of their passports.
