ASHLEY GRAHAM'S NOT GOING ANYWHERE

"It all kind of started when Swimsuits for All put me in their ad campaign last year," Graham told me over the phone last week of her new collaboration with
Swimsuits for All. The ad she's referring to was kind of a big freaking deal. It showed Graham poolside, rocking a string bikini as a thirsty dude in a suit falls into the water behind her. In fact, it was history-making—a campaign which made her the first plus size model to appear in an ad in the
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. "From there they realized they should do a swimwear line with me because
Gabi [Gregg's] line was so successful."
The collection, Graham tells me, is inspired by James Bond. "I wanted to be James Bond," she clarifies. "Not one of the girls. They're always portrayed as the sexy secondary, but why not be the boss? I'm strong, but also sexy."
In spite of her arresting beauty and self-confidence, at the end of day Graham still wants the same thing every woman does when it comes to bathing suits: for her chest to look amazing. "When I tried on the samples my boobs kept falling, so I asked them to add bras. The suits run up to a size 24/26 and some of these women have large boobs and some girls do not. But either way you still want them high and lifted." With bras in the scuba one-piece, and the mesh one-piece, and ample support in the string bikinis, Graham's guaranteed your girls will be high and close to God.
"I wanted to do something that was supportive and super sexy, yet simple enough for the buyer to feel that she could wear it al the time," Graham continues. You'll find that simplicity in the Espionage string bikini, the Double Cross bikini, and the Secret Agent black swimsuit. "But we'll have some fashion moments," she quickly adds, in a nod to the Intrigue swimsuit, one made with 521 Swarovski crystals. "I'm simplistic at heart but I love fashion, too."
